Why Are We Improving the Search Tools?

ICIWorld contains a wide variety of real estate Haves and Wants, including industrial, commercial, investment, businesses, land, farms and residential opportunities.
Our present search system can be very powerful, but new visitors may not immediately understand all the different ways they can search. Our goal is to help people begin searching within seconds, discover more opportunities and connect more quickly with ICIWorld members.
With a 15-minute training session, our members can find a buyer or seller opportunity within 10 seconds to a minute. One connection can easily lead to a substantial real estate trade. Make an appointment if you can not make a connection for a buyer or seller within a minute or two. And place your information within a few minutes for the world to see over this next month.

Advanced search features will remain important. However, we also want to provide a simpler starting point for people who may not yet understand the meaning of Haves, Wants, keywords, areas, categories, Boolean searches or the many other options available.

1. A Simple Main Search Box
Visitors could begin by typing what they are looking for in plain language, such as “apartment buildings in Toronto,” “industrial land wanted in Ontario” or “hotels in Florida.”
2. One-Click Popular Searches
Large, colorful buttons could make it easier to immediately search:

3. Search by What the Visitor Wants to Accomplish

4. Visual Property Categories

We plan to place more examples directly on search pages, such as:

6. Suggested Searches While Typing
When a visitor begins typing a word such as “apartment,” the system could suggest apartment buildings, development sites, apartment Wants or other related searches.
7. Natural-Language and AI-Assisted Searching
We will explore whether someone can describe exactly what they need in ordinary language, and then have the system direct them to the best matching ICIWorld search.
8. Saved Searches and New-Opportunity Alerts
Members and visitors may eventually be able to save frequently used searches and receive notice when new matching Haves or Wants are added.
9. Special Search Pages for Groups and Companies
Associations, real estate companies, professional groups, Facebook groups, LinkedIn groups and affiliate partners may be able to have customized pages showing their members’ Haves and Wants, selected searches, group information and links to add new opportunities.
10. More Search Guidance and Training
We will continue improving instructions, search examples, demonstrations, videos, orientations and personal assistance so members can use both simple and advanced searches more effectively.
